Mini ramshorn snails are tiny freshwater snails that stay under 1 cm. They're excellent cleanup crew members for nano tanks and planted setups. Unlike larger pest snails, they rarely damage healthy plants and focus on decaying matter, biofilm, and leftover food.
No special requirements — they thrive in virtually any freshwater tank. They do best in established tanks with biofilm on surfaces. Avoid copper-based medications which are lethal to all snails.
In a stocked tank, mini ramshorns usually find enough food on their own. In sparse setups, supplement with a small pinch of crushed flake or a blanched vegetable slice. They also feed on algae and decaying plant leaves.
Mini ramshorns reproduce readily. They lay small, clear egg clusters on glass and plant surfaces. Population is self-regulating based on available food — reduce feeding to slow reproduction. They make excellent feeder snails for puffers and assassin snails.
